Andy Gray

Dr. Andy Gray is a Deputy Director of Licensing Operations and Strategy at Vectis. 

In his role, Andy is actively managing many of Vectis’s licensing programs, projects and initiatives and has led the execution of dozens of patent licenses. 

Andy is a strong believer in the power of convergence and that true innovation is found at the intersection of disparate fields. And he tries to practice what he preaches having had a varied career moving from research in Physics (Ph.D. in Atomic Physics) to Corporate Finance (working for Dermot Desmond, one of Ireland’s most successful businessmen) to University Technology Transfer (licensing R&D IP and forming start-ups to commercialise research at Dublin Institute of Technology) to international patent licensing on a large scale (as a licensing executive with Intellectual Ventures).

Andy thinks commercializing IP is like mixology – equal parts technology, business, and law, and like any good cocktail, you have to shake things up to get the best results.
